Where is God in my wilderness?

The short answer is: everywhere. God is everywhere in my wilderness. In my desert and on my rough seas, in my fields and in my sky, in my depths and in my soaring heights. God is omnipresent in all of my wilderness places.

In my desert of temptation and isolation, God is there.
On my rough seas of doubt and confusion, God is there.
In my fields of thorns of daily suffering, God is there.
In my thundering sky of anger, God is there.
In my depths of loneliness and loss, God is there.

But also…

In my green pastures of prosperity, God is there.
On my calm sea of faithfulness, God is there.
In my fields of lilies of daily accomplishment, God is there.
In my tranquil sky of reflection, God is there.
In my soaring heights of connection and love, God is there.

God is the firm hand guiding me, the quiet voice correcting me, the everpresent friend accompanying me, the good parent loving me, the dazzling creator amazing me through my journey in my soul’s and the world’s wildernesses.
