Contributing factors to my wilderness.
The breakdown of marriage, the family drama:
These issues all puncture my soul’s weakening armour

And yet as I struggle through my darkest hour,
There’s hope that erupts from a spiritual power.
I see it in smiles of my family around me;
It banishes demons that otherwise hound me.

At St Vedast, St Botolph, I find inner peace -
With more positive thoughts, my joy can increase.
I often sit quietly, give thanks and praise
For those who support me in so many ways.

I know that my wife and my children all love me,
I know that I’m loved by the big guy above me.
That love, those smiles: I know form the basis
For God to turn wilderness into oasis.
